Call for Entry

DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (DMZ Docs) aims to promote ¡®peace, life and communication,¡¯ the values represented by the site of DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) in Korean Peninsula, through arts in documentary form. As one of the leading international documentary film festivals based in Asia, DMZ Docs introduces a wide range of documentaries from Korea and abroad and provides a platform for the filmmakers and industry professionals to meet and find better opportunities.

The 16th DMZ Docs, which will take place from September 26th to October 2nd, 2024 in Goyang City and Paju City, Gyeonggi, South Korea, now calls for brave and beautiful new documentaries. Please see below for the details and regulations for the 16th DMZ Docs submission.

  • International Competition(Features): March 4, 10:00 - May 3, 17:00, 2024 (KST)
  • Korean Competition(Features and Shorts): March 4, 10:00 - May 31, 17:00, 2024 (KST)

Eligibility

  • International Competition(Features) : Open to documentary films over 60 mins from all around the world including Korea.
    - Films should be completed after January 1st, 2023 and should have its Asian Premiere at the 16th DMZ Docs.
  • Korean Competition(Features and Shorts) : 1) Documentary film of feature or short length in which a person or a company residing in Korea played a significant role in its production, 2) or which consists of human and/or material aspects that meet the criteria for approval as a Korean film.
    • - Films should be completed after January 1st, 2023 and should have its World Premiere at the 16th DMZ Docs.

How to Submit

Official submission for the 16th DMZ Docs is ONLY available on the festival¡¯s official website.
First register your account on [Registration] page and receive password, and then log in via [Your Entry Form] to submit or review your application.

Important Notice

  • Be sure to read and agree to the Rules and Regulations before you begin to fill out the entry form.
  • Submission is completed only when the online screening link for preview is provided within the entry form.
  • The preview should be the same as the final screening version. If the final screening version differs from the submitted preview, the selection might be canceled.
  • The materials for submission will not be returned.
  • Selected entrants will be individually contacted, and the selected titles are not allowed to be withdrawn from the screening(s) after being selected.
