Call for Entry

DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (DMZ Docs) aims to promote ‘peace, life and communication,’ the values represented by the site of DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) in Korean Peninsula, through arts in documentary form. As one of the leading international documentary film festivals in Asia, DMZ Docs introduces a wide range of documentaries from Korea and abroad and provides a platform for the filmmakers and industry professionals to meet and find better opportunities.

The 13th DMZ Docs, which will take place from September 9th to 16th, 2021 in Goyang City and Paju City, Gyeonggi, South Korea, now calls for brave and beautiful new documentaries. Please see below for the details and regulations for the 13th DMZ Docs submission.

Dates

  • Foreign Features: March 5th to May 17th, 2021 17:00 (Korea Standard Time)
  • Foreign Shorts: April 1st to June 18th, 2021 17:00 (Korea Standard Time)
  • Korean Features: April 1st to June 18th, 2021 17:00 (Korea Standard Time)
  • Korean Shorts: April 1st to June 18th, 2021 17:00 (Korea Standard Time)

Eligibility

  • Features : Open to documentary films over 60 mins from all around the world. Film should be completed after January 1st, 2020 and should have its Korean Premiere at the 13th DMZ Docs to be considered for Competition sections.
  • Shorts : Open to documentary films under 60 mins. Films should be completed after January 1st, 2020 and should be made by Asian/Korean filmmakers or produced in Asia/Korea to be considered for Competition sections.

How to Submit

Official submission for the 13th DMZ Docs is ONLY available on the festival’s official website.

Important Notice

  • Be sure to read and agree to the Rules and Regulations before you begin to fill out the entry form.
  • Submission is completed only when the online screening link for preview is uploaded along with the entry form.
  • The preview should be the same as the final screening version. If the final screening version differs from the submitted preview, the selection might be canceled.
  • The materials for submission will not be returned.
  • Final selections will be contacted individually, and the selected titles are not allowed to withdraw after being selected.
