Call for Entries

DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (hereafter: DMZ Docs) aims to promote values of ‘peace’, ‘life’ and ‘communication’ represented by the site of DMZ through documentary film. As one of the most active international documentary film festivals in Asia, DMZ Docs introduces a wide rage of documentaries from Korea and abroad and provides a platform to support documentary film industry.
The 12th DMZ Docs, which will take place from 17th to 24th of September, 2020 in Goyang City and Paju City, Gyeonggi, Korea, now opens the Call for Entries. Please see below for the details and regulations of the 12th DMZ Docs Calls for Entries Submission.

Submission Dates
International Competition : March 1st to May 15th, 2020 17:00 (KST)
Asian Competition : March 1st to May 15th, 2020 17:00 (KST)
Short Competition : April 1st to June 15th, 2020 17:00 (KST)
Eligibility
International Competition : Open to feature documentary films (over 60 mins) from all around the world. Film should be completed after January 1st, 2019 and should have its Korean Premiere at the 12th DMZ Docs.
Asian Competition : Open to feature documentary films (over 60 mins) made by Asian filmmakers and/or produced in Asia. Film should be completed after January 1st, 2019 and should have its Korean Premiere at the 12th DMZ Docs.
Short Competition : Open to short documentary films (under 60 mins) from all around the world. Film should be completed after January 1st, 2019 and is required to have its Korean Premiere at the 12th DMZ Docs.
Registration

Registration and submission for DMZ Docs’ Call for Entries is ONLY available on the Festival’s official website.

Notice
  • Be sure to read and agree to the submission regulations before you begin to fill out the entry form.
  • Submission is completed only when the online screening link for preview is uploaded along with the entry form.
  • The preview should be the same as the final screening version. If the final screening version differs from the submitted preview, the selection might be canceled.
  • The materials for submission will not be returned.
  • Final selections will be contacted individually and you are not allowed to withdraw after being selected.
