출품신청서 제출과 동시에 별도 안내된 제18회 DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제 출품 규정(아래 참조) 및 저작물 관리 규정에 동의한 것으로 간주합니다.
결과는 선정된 작품에 한하여 개별 공지할 예정이며, 선정 이후 출품 철회는 불가합니다.
선정되지 않은 작품에 대한 미선정 사유는 제공하지 않습니다.
제18회 DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제에서 최종 상영될 섹션은 영화제가 결정합니다.

Once you submit the entry form, you will be considered to be in agreement with the 18th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival Rules and Regulations.
Final selection titles will be individually contacted, and the withdrawal is not allowed after selection.
The festival does not disclose the reasons behind the decisions.
The festival decides to which section a selected film would belong.

1. 조직
DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제는 DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제 조직위원회가 주최하고, (사)DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제 집행위원회가 주관한다.

2. 목적
DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제는 아시아의 선도적인 다큐멘터리 영화제로서 한국과 아시아를 비롯한 전 세계 다큐멘터리 작가들의 다큐멘터리를 통해 관객과 영화인이 함께 DMZ의 ‘평화’, ‘생명’, ‘소통’의 가치를 널리 알리기 위한 국제영화제이다.

3. 일시 및 장소
제18회 DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제는 2026년 9월 10일(목)부터 9월 16일(수)까지 경기도 고양특례시와 파주시 일대에서 개최된다.

4. 섹션 및 시상 부문
DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제의 프로그램은 경쟁 부문(국제경쟁·프런티어·한국경쟁)과 비경쟁 부문으로 이루어져 있다. 출품은 국제경쟁과 한국경쟁을 구분하여 진행하며, 선정은 프로그램 선정위원회의 심의를 통해 섹션별로 결정된다.

● 국제경쟁
자격
 - 2025년 1월 1일 이후 제작된 작품으로, 한국을 포함한 전 세계 다큐멘터리 감독이 제작한 장편 다큐멘터리(약 상영시간 60분 이상) 영화
 - 제18회 DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제의 개최일 이전에 아시아 지역에서 상영 전적이 없는 작품이어야 함. (아시아 최초 상영)
시상
 - 국제경쟁 대상: 한화 20,000,000원의 상금과 트로피 수여
 - 국제경쟁 심사위원 특별상: 한화 10,000,000원의 상금과 트로피 수여

● 프런티어
자격
 - 2025년 1월 1일 이후 제작된 작품으로, 한국을 포함한 전 세계 다큐멘터리 감독이 제작한 장편 다큐멘터리(약 상영시간 60분 이상) 영화
 - 제18회 DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제의 개최일 이전에 아시아 지역에서 상영 전적이 없는 작품이어야 함. (아시아 최초 상영)
시상
 - 프런티어 대상: 한화 15,000,000원의 상금과 트로피 수여

● 한국경쟁
자격
 - 2025년 1월 1일 이후 제작된 작품으로,
   1) 국내에 주된 사업소를 두었거나 그에 준하는 개인이 제작 주체가 된 장·단편 다큐멘터리 영화.
   2) 또는 해당 영화의 제작에 참여 및 활용되는 인적·물적 요소가 한국영화의 인정기준에 적합하게 구성된 장·단편 다큐멘터리 영화
   (장편: 약 60분 이상, 단편: 40분 이내)
 - 제18회 DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제의 개최일 이전에 상영 전적이 없는 작품이어야 함. (세계 최초 상영)
시상
 - 한국경쟁 장편 대상: 한화 15,000,000원의 상금과 트로피 수여
 - 한국경쟁 단편 대상: 한화 10,000,000원의 상금과 트로피 수여

● 특별상
① 연대상
 - 한국 장편 상영작(한국 경쟁작, 해외 경쟁 및 비경쟁 부문의 한국 단일 국가 제작 작품 대상) 중 사회에 대한 적극적인 참여와 날카로운 비판이 돋보이는 작품을 선정
 - 시상: 한화 10,000,000원의 상금과 상장 수여
② 예술상
 - 한국 장편 상영작(한국 경쟁작, 해외 경쟁 및 비경쟁 부문의 한국 단일 국가 제작 작품 대상) 중 예술적 성취와 공헌이 돋보이는 작품을 선정
 - 시상: 한화 10,000,000원의 상금과 상장 수여
③ 신인감독상(후원회상)
 - 한국 장편 상영작(한국 경쟁작, 해외 경쟁 및 비경쟁 부문의 한국 단일 국가 제작 작품 대상) 중 신인감독(장편 2편 이내)의 우수 작품을 선정
 - 시상: 한화 10,000,000원의 상금과 상장 수여

● 비평가의 시선상
 - 크리틱스 초이스 상영작 중 비평적 성취가 돋보이는 작품을 선정
 - 시상: 한화 3,000,000원의 상금과 상장 수여

● 국제영화비평가연맹상(FIPRESCI)
 - 한국경쟁 장편 상영작 중 탁월한 예술적 성취를 이룬 작품을 선정
 - 시상: 상장 수여

5. 출품 안내
(1) 출품비는 무료이다.
(2) 출품 마감일은 국제경쟁(장편)의 경우 2026년 4월 29일이며, 한국경쟁(장·단편)의 경우 2026년 5월 22일이다.
(3) 출품작은 2025년 1월 1일 이후 국내·외에서 완성된 다큐멘터리 영화로, 각 부문별 자격 요건에 충족하는 작품이어야 한다.
(4) 상영을 위한 작품 형식은 DCP, MOV ProRes 422 HQ, Mpeg4, Blu-ray 등이며, 비영어권 작품의 경우, 영어 자막이 있어야 한다.
(5) 출품 방법 및 제출 자료
 - 모든 출품작은 영화제 출품 사이트(entry.dmzdocs.com)를 통한 온라인 출품을 원칙으로 한다.
 - 출품하는 시사용 스크리너는 최종 상영본과 동일하여야 하고, 상영본이 시사용 스크리너와 판이하게 다를 경우에는 작품 선정이 취소될 수 있다. 시사용 스크리너와 상영본의 일치 여부는 전적으로 영화제가 판단한다.
 - 온라인 출품 신청서 작성과 함께 시사용 프리뷰 링크가 업로드된 것을 출품이 완료된 것으로 간주한다.
 - 출품을 위하여 제출된 모든 자료는 반환되지 않는다.

6. 작품 선정 및 심사
(1) 공식 출품된 모든 출품작은 프로그램 선정위원회의 심의를 거쳐 선정하며, 2026년 7월 중 본선 진출작에 한해 개별 통보한다. 상영 확정작은 2026년 8월 중 영화제 홈페이지 등을 통해 공식 발표한다.
(2) 영화제는 영화제 기간의 상영 스케줄을 편성할 수 있는 권한을 가진다.
(3) 본선 진출작은 상영작 공식 발표 후에는 작품 상영을 취소할 수 없다.
(4) 출품작 중 경쟁 부문에 선정되지 않은 작품일지라도 출품인의 동의하에 비경쟁 부문에서 상영할 수 있다.
(5) 본선 심사는 각 부문별로 DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제가 위촉한 심사위원단이 진행한다.
(6) 한국 장편 상영작을 대상으로 하는 특별상의 선정은 국내 전문가로 구성된 별도의 심사위원단이 정한다.
(7) 한국경쟁 장편 상영작을 대상으로 하는 국제영화비평가연맹상의 선정은 국제영화비평가연맹(FIPRESCI)이 위촉한 별도의 심사위원단이 정한다.
(8) 한 부문에서 수상작이 여러 편 결정되었을 경우, 상금을 동일한 금액으로 분할하여 각 작품에 수여한다.
(9) 출품신청서 및 상영동의서에 사실과 다른 사항을 기재했을 경우, 또는 작품 혹은 작품 관계자가 사회적 물의를 일으켰거나 그런 문제제기의 당사자가 되었을 경우, 영화제 프로그램 위원회의 결정에 의해 작품 선정 및 상영을 취소할 수 있다.

7. 본선 진출 시 요청 사항
(1) 본선 진출 확정 시 출품자는 아래의 자료를 기한 내 제출해야 한다. 제출한 자료는 프로그램 카탈로그 제작과 영화제 전후 홍보 자료 등으로 활용된다.
 ① 작품 정보
 ② 영화제 상영 버전과 동일한 시사용 온라인 스크리너 (※영어 자막 필수)
 ③ 감독 프로필 사진 1장 (300 dpi 이상)
 ④ 작품 스틸컷 3장 이상 (300 dpi 이상, 너비 2,000pixel, 최소 600kb 이상)
 ⑤ 기타 홍보 자료 (영화 포스터, 프레스킷, 트레일러 등이 있는 경우)
(2) 위 제출 자료는 별도 반환하지 않는다.

8. 상영본 수급
(1) 선정된 작품의 프린트(상영본)는 마감 기한 내 영화제 사무국에 제출하여야 한다.
(2) 해외로부터 프린트 발송 시 발송자 이름, 작품 제목, 포맷, 프레임, 러닝타임, 컬러 정보가 기재된 인보이스(pro-forma invoice)를 함께 발송해야 한다. 발송 직후, 발송자는 선적 방식, 발송 일자, 선적 항공편 등을 영화제 사무국에 알려야 한다.
(3) DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제는 프린트 제공자가 영화제 측이 지정한 공식 운송 업체를 이용한 경우에 한해 왕복 운송료를 부담한다. 영화제 공식 운송 업체가 아닌 다른 운송 업체 이용을 희망할 경우 필요에 따라 영화제 사무국과 사전 협의 후 운송료를 결정할 수 있다.
(4) 제출된 프린트는 영화제 상영을 위해 출품자와 협의하에 한글 자막이 삽입된 디지털 파일 및 DCP로 변환할 수 있다. 변환된 프린트는 사무국 내에서만 활용된다.
(5) 변환된 프린트는 예외적 상황이 없을 시 영화제 폐막 후 4주 이내에 폐기를 원칙으로 하며, 제출된 프린트는 영화제 폐막 후 4주 이내에 출품신청서에 명기된 주소로 반환한다.
(6) 영화제 측의 부주의한 관리로부터 비롯된 상영본 파일의 유출로 피해가 발생할 시, DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제는 이에 대한 모든 책임을 진다.

9. 보험
(1) DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제 공식 수송 업체는 영화제 사무국에 상영본을 배달하고 반환하는 과정에서 책임보험에 가입한다.
(2) DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제 출품작의 상영본을 보관하고 있는 동안 상영본이 손상 또는 유실될 경우, DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제는 제작자나 배급업자에게 상영본 한 벌의 제작비용에 한하여 보상하며 자막 처리가 있는 상영본의 경우, 자막 제작비도 포함하여 보상한다.

10. 상영 자료의 활용 및 제공
(1) 모든 출품작 전체 길이의 10%, 최대 3분 분량의 영상 클립은 영화제 홍보 자료로 활용될 수 있다. 단, 정해진 분량을 초과 시에는 사전 협의해야 한다.
(2) 출품자가 직접 제작한 출품작의 트레일러가 제출된 경우, 영화제 홍보 자료로 활용된다.
(3) 제출된 자료들은 제18회 DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제 카탈로그 제작과 홍보 자료로 활용된다.
(4) DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제는 합법적인 저작권자의 요청에 한하여 영화제 상영을 위해 제작한 상영작의 한글 자막을 제공한다. 단, 자막 사용의 제반 조건(사용의 범위, 자막 저작권 표기 등)을 상호 논의하고 합의하여야 한다.

11. 일반 규정
(1) 저작권 및 초상권
출품자는 출품한 영화 안에 사용된 음악이나 영상 등의 저작권 및 영화 속 등장인물의 초상권 등 모든 권리에 대해 직접 해결해야 한다. 영화제는 이 부분에 관해 출품자에게 별도로 확인하지 않으며, 저작권 및 초상권 등의 침해로 야기될 수 있는 법률적 문제에 책임을 지지 않는다. 작품에 포함된 저작권 및 초상권 등에 관한 문제에는 어떠한 경우에도 출품자가 전적으로 책임을 진다.
(2) 상영의 취소
출품신청서 및 상영동의서에 사실과 다른 사항을 기재했을 경우, 또는 작품 혹은 작품 관계자가 사회적 물의를 일으켰거나 그런 문제제기의 당사자가 되었을 경우, 영화제 프로그램 위원회의 결정에 의해 작품 선정 및 상영을 취소할 수 있다.
(3) 동의
DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제는 배급사 또는 제작자 등 작품 출품의 공식적 권한을 소유한 자의 서명이 있는 출품신청서 및 상영동의서가 제출되면 그들이 상기의 모든 규약을 수락하는 것으로 간주한다.

 
The 18th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival
Rules and Regulations

1. Organization
The 18th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (henceforth: DMZ Docs) is presented by the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival Organizing Committee and hosted by the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival Executive Committee.

2. Purposes
Through documentaries, DMZ Docs aspires to convey the meaning and ideals of DMZ: Peace, Life, and Communication. In addition, DMZ Docs, as one of the leading and most active documentary film festivals and a vital industry hub in Asia, strives to present the best documentaries and support Korean and Asian filmmakers at various stages with funding and support programs.

3. Festival Dates and Venue
The 18th DMZ Docs will take place from September 10th to 16th, 2026 in Goyang City and Paju City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.

4. Sections and Awards
DMZ Docs presents competitions, including International/Frontier/Korean Competition, in addition to curated non-competition and special programs. DMZ Docs invites applications for both International and Korean Competition, with the final selection being made by the DMZ Docs selection committee.

● International Competition
Eligibility
 - Feature documentary films (approximately over 60 mins) from all around the world including Korea.
 - Films should have its Asian Premiere at the 18th DMZ Docs.
Awards
 - Grand Prize: A cash prize of KRW 20,000,000 and a trophy will be given.
 - Special Jury Award: A cash prize of KRW 10,000,000 and a trophy will be given.
   ※The Grand Prize recipient of the International Competition is eligible for consideration in the ‘Documentary Feature Film’ category of the 99th Academy Awards. (https://www.oscars.org/oscars/rules-eligibility)

● Frontier Competition
Eligibility
 - Feature documentary films (approximately over 60 mins) from all around the world including Korea.
 - Films should have its Asian Premiere at the 18th DMZ Docs.
Awards
 - Grand Prize: A cash prize of KRW 15,000,000 and a trophy will be given.

● Korean Competition
Eligibility
 - 1) Documentary film of feature or short length in which a person or a company residing in Korea played a significant role in its production,
   2) or which consists of human and/or material aspects that meet the criteria for approval as a Korean film.
   ※Features: approximately over 60 mins, Shorts: up to 40 mins
 - Films should have its World Premiere at the 18th DMZ Docs.
Awards
 - Feature Grand Prize: A cash prize of KRW 15,000,000 and a trophy will be given.
 - Short Grand Prize: A cash prize of KRW 10,000,000 and a trophy will be given.
   ※The Feature Grand Prize recipient of the Korean Competition is eligible for consideration in the ‘Documentary Feature Film’ category of the 99th Academy Awards. (https://www.oscars.org/oscars/rules-eligibility)

● Special Awards
① Special Prize for Social Solidarity
 - Korean feature documentaries are eligible for this award for an excellent documentary that shows passionate engagements with social justice and critical perspectives on the society. (All Korean films that are not co-produced with any other nation and are entered in both the competitive and non-competitive sections will be eligible for the prize.)
 - A cash prize of KRW 10,000,000 and a certificate of award will be given.

② Special Prize for Outstanding Aesthetic Achievement
 - Korean feature documentaries are eligible for this award for an excellent documentary that displays aesthetic experiments and achievement on visual languages. (All Korean films that are not co-produced with any other nation and are entered in both the competitive and non-competitive sections will be eligible for the prize.)
 - A cash prize of KRW 10,000,000 and a certificate of award will be given. 

③ Special Prize for Emerging Documentary Filmmaker
 - Korean feature documentaries are eligible for this award for an excellent first or second feature documentary by an emerging filmmaker. (All Korean films that are not co-produced with any other nation and are entered in both the competitive and non-competitive sections will be eligible for the prize.)
 - A cash prize of KRW 10,000,000 and a certificate of award will be given.

● Critics' Choice Award
 - Selected Critics’ Choice documentaries are eligible for this award for exceptional critical achievement.
 - A cash prize of KRW 3,000,000 and a certificate of award will be given.

● FIPRESCI Award
 - Selected Korean competition feature documentaries are eligible for this award for exceptional artistic merit.
 - A certificate of award will be given.

5. Entry Requirements
(1) Submission is free of charge.
(2) Deadline for Submission
 - International Competition(Features): March 4, 10:00 - April 29, 17:00, 2026 (KST)
 - Korean Competition(Features and Shorts): March 4, 10:00 - May 22, 17:00, 2026 (KST)
(3) Eligibility
 - Documentaries completed after January 1, 2025 and satisfying the criteria of each section.
 - The selection committee at DMZ Docs makes the final determination as to which section a selected title belongs.
(4) Formats
 - DMZ Docs accepts the following screening formats: DCP, MOV ProRes 422 HQ, Mpeg4, Blu-ray.
 - DMZ Docs does not support physical film formats(16mm, 35mm) due to the screening environments.
 - All non-English language films must be subtitled in English (burnt-in preferred).
(5) Submission
 - All entries should be made on DMZ Docs’ official submission website: http://entry.dmzdocs.com/
 - Preview screener must be provided as an online link only.
 - Please note that the submission will be considered complete only when both entry form and preview link are received.
 - DMZ Docs will not return submitted materials to the entrants.

6. Selection
(1) The DMZ Docs selection committee will review all submissions. By the mid-July 2026, selected titles for the competition will be notified individually. Early-August will see the formal announcement of the 18th DMZ Docs.
(2) DMZ Docs has the rights in its sole discretion to schedule any number of screenings.
(3) The selected films should not withdraw from the screening(s) after the public announcement of the DMZ Docs’ program.
(4) The submitted films can be shown in competition or non-competition section with the agreement of entrants.
(5) DMZ Docs will select the members of the award jury. Jury members from diverse nations will deliberate, discuss, and choose prize recipients.
(6) The selection of the FIPRESCI Award for Korean Competition feature documentary is made by a separate jury appointed by the International Federation of Film Critics(FIPRESCI).
(7) If there are multiple winners in a category, the cash prize will be divided into equal amounts and awarded to each entry.
(8) Every content of the entry form must be free of falsehood. If any content of the entry form is proved to be false, the entry can be excluded from the selection and the screening(s) can be canceled even after its selection.

7. Publicity Materials Request
The following items must be sent to DMZ Docs once you receive the official invitation from the program department/team.
 - Completed registration form for the selected film(s).
 - Subtitles and dialogue transcription of the film in both the original language(s) and English, for translating and electronic subtitling in the Korean language. The transcription must be identical to the screening copy.
 - Downloadable format of the film for subtitling/translation purpose.
 - At least 3 high-resolution digital film stills. Minimum requirements: 300 dpi, 2,000 pixels wide, 600kb. 
 - A digital photo of the director(s).
 - If applicable, a trailer and movie clips and other promotional materials(press kit, poster, e.g.).

8. Screening Material-Print and Subtitles (Selected films only)
(1) The exhibitors of the selected films must provide DMZ Docs with a screening copy in the requested format by the deadline.
(2) When the film ships from abroad, a pro-forma invoice must be attached to the material, stating the name of the sender, the title and format, frame rate, running time, and color information. After the shipment, the sender should notify the shipping date and the courier to the festival office.
(3) DMZ Docs covers the shipping cost in cases where the shipment has been made through the official courier service designated by the festival and the return is to the origin of the print. The only exception is for shipments to/from other festivals, for which the standard practice of cost sharing with the festivals will be applied.
(4) DMZ Docs can make a digital copy and/or DCP of the film with Korean subtitles for the festival screening. It will be strictly maintained in the festival office for the original purpose.
(5) All digital copies of the film produced by DMZ Docs must be discarded following the conclusion of the festival, excepting exceptional circumstances. All screening prints will be returned to the address stated in the entry form within a month of the closing day of the festival.
(6) DMZ Docs will be responsible for damages of spilled film caused by festival office’s carelessness.

9. Insurance
(1) Official courier service designated by DMZ Docs gets liability insurance for the transportation of screening copy.
(2) All screening copies will be insured by DMZ Docs for the replacement costs of a screening material for the same type and quality, from the moment they are received by the festival office until they are handed over to the first forwarding agent for the return shipment. 

10. Use and Supply of Screening Materials
(1) DMZ Docs can use up to 10% of the film for publicity. If the selected part is more than 3 minutes it should get approval from the copyright holder in advance.
(2) DMZ Docs can use the trailer and all publicity materials submitted for publishing catalogues and other promotional purposes.
(3) DMZ Docs will produce Korean subtitles for all non-Korean films screened at the festival. The subtitles in Korean will be supplied upon request by the legitimate rightholders of each title in accordance with an agreement specifying the regulations of subtitle use, including the scope of use and source description.

11. General Regulation
(1) In the event that any claims, disputes, actions or proceedings shall be brought or asserted by any person or entity that alleges that the selected film(s) makes unauthorized or unlawful use of any copyrighted contents or materials, the entrant/applicant should fully indemnify and defend DMZ Docs. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant/applicant to secure authorization and permission from the copyright owner(s) of any and all copyrighted contents or materials included within the submitted film. DMZ Docs expressly disavows any responsibility for and will not be held responsible for any unauthorized inclusion of any copyrighted content or materials within or relating to the submitted film, including any contents or materials that are or may become the basis for any claims for copyright infringement.
(2) If any content of the entry form or registration form is proved to be false, the entry can be excluded from the selection and the screening(s) can be canceled even after its selection.
(3) If a selected film or a person related to the making of the film is subjected to an allegation of any wrongdoing or causes public criticism, DMZ Docs Programming Committee can decide to cancel the selection and/or the screening(s) of the film in question.
(4) As a copyright holder or an official delegate submits the signed entry form, DMZ Docs considers that they fully understand and agree with the festival’s rules and regulation.

※ 출품신청서에 작성한 모든 정보는 거짓이 없어야 하며, 허위로 판명될 경우 심사에서 제외되며 상영이 취소될 수 있습니다.

※ 제출 후에는 내용 수정이 불가하니 제출 전 내용 및 오탈자, 동의 여부를 다시 한번 확인해주시기 바랍니다.

※ Every content of the entry form must be free of falsehoods. If any contents of the entry form are proved to be false, the entry will be excluded from the selection and the screening may be canceled even after being selected.
